entry eight: i'll keep it brief

Keeping it Short and Sharp

Literally. Sharp. Tracey Sharp. Writer extraordinaire. Gave me some good feedback on my latest draft:

• What's Rose's purpose? Does she know about Max and Keith? How much does she notice? If she's oblivious, is there a remark she can make about how they're acting? If she knows, would that remark be with malicious intent, or out of fear, to try and catch Keith out?
• Flesh out Rose and Max's relationship earlier in the play.
• Joanna/Max scene is unrealistic. If this happened in real life, how would a mother react when her daughter tells her that her rapist is sitting in the next room? Put this into the play.
• Does Keith recognise Max? How does he handle this? What happens if he doesn't recognise her?
• When do each of the characters come to a realisation about Max/Keith? Do they?

Also:

*I've decided to change the name of my blog. 'elephant daydreams: the making of' just isn't relevant anymore. I hope to come back to it one day, but for now we welcome in 'happy families: the making of'. What a genius title. A little weird, very nondescript; just how I like it *
